GUIDE FORM SPECIFICATIONS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The traditional decorative post top luminaire designated
_______ (identify) shall be a GE Legacy™ luminaire, ordering
number _______ (specify LGCX or LGCF, plus ordering number
logic from catalog), or approved equal, to operate one _______
(specify [50, 70, 100 or 150] watt high pressure sodium [HPS] or
70, 100, 175 watt metal halide) lamp from a nominal _______
(specify 120, 208, 240, 277 or 347 volt , 60 Hertz power source
and shall be capable of starting and operating the specified
lamp within the limits specified by the lamp manufacturer. The
luminaire shall contain a completely prewired integral ballast
and a UV stabilized polycarbonate resin or acrylic globe that
shall provide an IES Distribution Type _______ (specify from
Photometric Selection Guide in catalog). Standard construction
is IP54.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
The luminaire shall include a polycarbonate globe impact re-
sistant at -40
o
C, socket, ballast, and ornamental black painted
textured heavy gauge cast aluminum fitter to fit a maximum
diameter pole. An internal button PE control is available.
The luminaire shall include a removable ballast can which con-
tains ballast, capacitor and starting aid (HPS).
The optical assembly shall have a one-piece, impact resistant,
UV stabilized for color clarity, formed polycarbonate globe. The
standard mogul base E39 socket with superior lamp gripping.
The socket shall have added insulation, giving it the ability to
handle the higher pulse ratings of newer HID systems.
For globe types 1A, 1D, 1H, 1M there shall be prismatic tiered
refractors integral to the globe providing reduced glare with
improved light utilization.

BALLAST OPERATION
The luminaire shall have a _______ (specify) ballast*. The plug-
in type ignitor (for HPS only) and ballast shall be prewired to the
lamp socket requiring connection of power supply leads only.
The ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast speci-
fications available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp
manufacturers at the time of fixture manufacture.
The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambi-
ent temperatures down to -20
°
F for mercury or metal halide or
-40
°
F for HPS.
The luminaire and ballast shall be from the same manufacturer.
